Welcoming in the New Year in Wollongong

Thousand of locals and tourists celebrated 2019 at Acorn Lawyers' New Year's Eve celebrations held in Wollongong Harbour. Spectators were treated to a wide range of Alice in Wonderland activities as well as a jet ski and light show event. The highlight of the event was last minute cancellation of the fireworks.

Acorn Lawyers fully supported the decision to cancel the fireworks as the events major sponsor and wish to acknowledge our heartfelt gratitude to all the fire fighters that have been working tirelessly over the last few months to save and protect homes and lives. Acorn Lawyers' team members have been spearheading donation drives and donating time and money to help as much as we can.

The family-friendly night was a success despite the fireworks being cancelled due to the upgraded fire ban and strong southerly winds on the South Coast of New South Wales.
Wollongong's spirit was highlighted with many praising the decision to cancel the fireworks while digging deep for the collection tins that were passed around at the event raising funds for our fire fighters and other charitable organizations helping those who had lost homes and lives during the recent fires.
